A solid free beach day, though the loos and litter bins sound a bit hit-and-miss.
The long read worth saving for nap time
What’s it actually like?
Seaford beach is basically a proper no-frills seaside day: a long pebble beach, an esplanade, beach huts, and access to the South Downs if you fancy a walk with views. Reviews also mention the Martello Tower, a small museum, and the start of the Severn Sisters hike, so there is enough here to make it more than just a sit-and-stare-at-the-sea stop. For families, the big wins are obvious: it’s free, parking is free, and there are cafes and toilets on the seafront. People like the open space, the clean-ish feel, and the fact you can combine a beach trip with a walk or a wander along the promenade. Older children and tweens will probably get more out of the scenery and hiking than toddlers will, but there is a park nearby too. The downsides are very seaside, sadly: pebble beach, some tired infrastructure, overflowing bins in places, and one review was downright grim about the main toilet block. Reviewers also mention cracked surfaces and some shelters needing attention, so don’t come expecting polished resort glamour. Bring your own loo roll, decent shoes, and low expectations for the cafe scene, and you’ll probably have a decent day.

Long pebble beach with free parking and seafront facilities. Good for walks, sea views, beach huts and a simple day out. Not a big attraction, and the toilets sound variable at best.
