Manor Park Country Park is a straightforward, good-value family outing rather than a big-ticket attraction. It has the usual essentials done properly: a cafe near the car park, toilets, a fenced children’s play area, open grass, and walking routes around the lake and fields. Parents seem to appreciate the practical bits most: plenty of seating, a decent menu, and enough space for kids to burn off energy without you having to chase them through a maze of overpriced nonsense. The play area and open lawns make it a good shout for younger and early-primary children, while the lake, stream and wildlife add a bit more interest for walkers and dog owners. The catch is that it’s not especially exciting, and the surface can get muddy and slippery after rain, so wellies are a sensible idea. Parking is paid, and some reviews mention exact-change faff or higher weekend charges. It also sounds more like a half-day wander than an all-day destination, which is fine if that’s what you wanted in the first place.
