Epsom Playhouse is a small theatre rather than a soft play centre, but the reviews here are overwhelmingly about family panto and other live performances. That means this is more about sitting down and being entertained than letting children burn off steam. For families, the big wins are the intimate auditorium, friendly staff, and shows that land well with mixed ages. Reviewers mention continuous gags, brilliant casts, lovely costumes and pyrotechnics, which is exactly the sort of thing that keeps children engaged without needing a screen in sight. The close seats also help younger children feel part of the action. The practical bits sound decent too: plenty of toilets, quick exits from the car park, and a small bar with a reasonable selection. The downsides are fairly typical theatre ones — the bar is pricey, the venue is small, and it’s not a day out with loads of extras.
