E.M.S.R. Adventure Park

E.M.S.R. Adventure Park is, by the sound of it, a miniature railway first and a family attraction second — and that’s no bad thing. The steam trains are the headline act, with reviews calling them the star of the show, and there’s enough else on offer to make a proper outing of it rather than just a quick ride and go home. The extras are solid: crazy golf, playgrounds, a separate toddler section, woodland walks, a lake, a maze and picnic spots. Parents also mention decent food, fast service, plenty of seating and free parking, which all helps when you’re trying to keep small humans fed, watered and vaguely civilised. The main catch is that it sounds busiest and best for younger children, so older ones may run out of steam a bit sooner. One review also flags a toddler play area being under-supervised at times, so it’s worth keeping a close eye if you’ve got little ones in there. Train horns and smoke may also be a bit much for very sensitive toddlers sitting at the front.
